WOMEN IN DENTISTRY ADVISORY COMMITTEE (WIDAC)

In the Fall of 2023 the ngsAMD introduced the Women in Dentistry Advisory Committee (WIDAC). This committee looks to identify the challenges and issues unique to women in our profession. We present programs designed to offer advice and mentorship opportunities to help guide women in their dental careers and their lives outside of dentistry.

The ngsAMD recognizes that women in dentistry often encounter a range of professional and personal challenges that can impact their careers and families. WIDAC represents a diverse and inclusive group, encompassing female dentists who are active in organized dentistry, education, research, and private practice. The committee will serve as an advisory resource for women at all stages of their careers, offering guidance and support to help them thrive in their professional journeys. Moreover, WIDAC will work with the board of the ngsAMD to encourage and promote greater female representation and participation within the ranks of the organization. In addition, the committee will arrange 2-3 events a year with focus on topics that enhance and promote women in dentistry.
